AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF THIS CLASSIC WESTERN AUSTRALIA ERROR.

According to Juhl, "6-8 sheets seem to have been issued. Stanley Gibbons received a half sheet of 60 from the Postmaster at Albany, who regretted that he had to charge the 6d [per stamp that] he had to account for. About four copies are known dated Perth 28 JA 79 [this example being one of those four] and use is also known from Fremantle, Geraldton and Vasse. A copy is known canceled 12/15-bar and this can only be from Claremont, opened SP 83, when 6d remainders were disposed of late in the 1880s. Another, canceled with a Dumb 13-bar is probably from the same sheet."
