image France Used Collection in Scott Specialty Album to About 1987, a nice collection that starts with the Empire Français stamps of 1853 and goes on to 1987. Completion is over 80% for the regular stamps, much less for back of the book issues. We noted three nice Bordeaux issue stamps, a large selection of the Peace and Commerce set, very high completion in the 1930s issues and also from 1959 to 1983. Ten MNH Red Cross booklets are also included. Overall very fine. (Image)

image France Mint and Used Collection to 1987, in two Schaubeck albums and a stockbook. Starts with some Peace and Commerce, then about 50% complete, mostly used, to 1945 and about 90% complete to 1972, starting the period with used and gradually switching, first to MH and then to MNH. The second album, 1974 to 1987 is about 90% complete, almost exclusively MNH. The stockbook holds a few hundreds stamps, mainly MNH, to about 1979. We noticed a bit of low duplication. Overall fine or better, a few faults noted in earlier material. (Image)

image France Mint and Used Collection to 1950, in a Davo hingeless album. The collection starts with used Napoleon and Ceres issues and gradually increases the proportion of MH starting in 1935. Completion is over 80% in period, with most missing stamps being semi-postals. We noted the Pexip sheet (Sc 239, lightly hinged), and the 1947 500fr airmail (Sc C22 MH). A great basis for completion. Overall fine or better, a few faults noted in earlier material. (Image)

image France Philatelic Exhibitions and Stamp Day Thematic Collection, a neatly annotated collection of stamps, souvenir sheets, labels, FDCs and cards related to Philatelic Exhibitions held in France from as early as 1914 to 1968 as well as Stamp Day issues 1944-1968. We noted the PEXIP souvenir sheet Scott 329 (MNH but paper adhesion in lower margin), rare 1914 and 1943 Lyon Philatelic exhibitions labels, also rare 1946 La Mure d’Isere imperf labels, 1930 EIPA 30 perfin Scott 5a on exhibition card. Also Stamp Day stamps, FDCs and maxi-cards. A nice collection worthy of a closer examination, see scans for an idea. (Image)

In this lot, definitives are held in a stockbook and in glassines, in quantities to about 50 copies and are mainly used whereas the commemoratives and back-of-the-book items are found in a separate stockbook, generally in quantities not exceeding 5 copies and as a mixture of mint and used. We noted strength in the colonial period, including a good variety of countries such as Madagascar, with what appears to be an advanced collection featuring earlier issues, many sets, and "France Libre" overprints, Algeria, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Togo, Niger, Cameroon, Burundi, Chad, Malagasy, Mali, Dahomey and more. image Germany Large 3 Volume Collection, 1993-2006, with mint and used, on cover etc., this collection has it all, including complete mint and cancelled booklets, sheetlets, various se-tenant combinations, corner blocks to show the margin inscriptions or designs, postal stationery, souvenir covers, corner cutouts of commemorative cancels, each issue is shown in as many combinations as possible. As an example of this method, we scanned the 7 pages showing the 2005 semi-postal set of butterflies Scott B961-5. Most issues are treated in a similar fashion. In addition, the German Post Office Annual Collections for 1997 and 2009-11 are included. High face value for the Euro-denominated issues. (Image)

image Germany Old Time Mint and Used Collection, 1872 to 1940s, all collected long ago in 10 stock pages. The first few pages have a mix of mint and used, then becomes mainly mint never hinged to the end. We noted better items such as used #s 8 ($165), 11 ($360), 12 (pen cancel $165), 13 (pen cancel $540), 25 ($375), 65A ($360), 75 ($240). The mint are mostly quite fresh and overall fine to very fine, and all pages are scanned online. (Image)
