image 1930-1931 Dominion Airways Ltd. Flight Covers, includes Stapleton #38a DEC.26.1930 flown cover with SIXPENCE label signed by A. Rosenberg, the company secretary, flown Hastings to Grisborne where it entered the Post Office mail. The Post Office banned the labels on Dec. 29th so to keep using them they were cut to remove the "SIXPENCE". Also a #39a Hastings to Grisborne with a cut label. Leader McGregor. Some covers have backstamps, and all have Air Mail Society of New Zealand expert committee handstamps. image FEB.21.1932 Omaru to Christchurch Flood Emergency Flight Cover, Stapleton #72a. Severe flooding cut road and rail links so the postmaster requested planes returning from the Invercargill Air Pageant to land at the town and carry mail. Several aircraft under the command of Sq. Leader J.L. Findlay, who signed this cover, landed and carried mail to Christchurch. Very few covers are signed. image 1923-1924 Baghdad to Cairo Covers, first was mailed MAR.30.1923 Baghdad to Cairo then on to England, franked with 6 British Occupation Iraq stamps, fine. Second mailed Teheran on DEC.24.1924 to Dublin, Ireland, franked with 10 Persia stamps depicting Ahmed Shah Qajar (some are on back of cover) with bilingual "BY AIR MAIL BAGDAD-CAIRO" handstamp in purple plus Teheran registration markings, Bagdad c.d.s. on back. This is a very early first First Flight from Iran, carried by a Junkers F13 aircraft were among the world's best airplanes, from the military and transport point of view. Opened a bit roughly at top, still very fine and unlisted in AAMS. Also includes two 1933 flight covers Baghdad to Stephen Smith in Calcutta India, both with additional "Karachi-Calcutta / First Air Mail" pictorial handstamps on back (these with light stains, else fine).
