1924 5c violet Admiral with Retouched Vertical Line in Upper Right Spandrel, Wet Printing, a mint never hinged block of four, described by Marler as Type 6 (Plates 19 and 20), this with all four stamps retouched at upper right. In addition, the lower left stamp has its upper left spandrel line retouched, (according to Marler, only 4 stamps on plate 20 were retouched this way). According to owner, all four stamps are also affected by a light kiss print and these are much narrower than normal for wet printings. A great item for the specialist, very fine. Ex. 1912 7c Admiral Trial Colour Die Proof, on card-mounted India paper in unissued orange colour, measuring 39 x 24 mm. Die number "F-214" and 23 mm A.B.N.Co printer's imprints at bottom. Only two proofs in this colour are recorded, both were in the Christie sale of ABN proof material. Not mentioned in Minuse and Pratt or on Library and Archives web site.
