1872 6c yellow brown Queen Victoria, with Major Re-Entry from position 67, showing a heavy line through CANADA POSTAGE at top and line below the design in bottom margin. An interesting re-entry which appeared at the beginning of printing, also called "fresh entry". Well illustrated and described on page 163 of Canada's Postage Stamps of the Small Queen Era, 1870-1897 by Hillson and Nixon. A used example with fancy cancel and a few corner creases, still one which shows the re-entry quite clearly. (Image)
Lovely Calendar Collection of the 10c Small Queen Value, with a total of 109 fully dated stamps, ranging from DEC.13.1874 to MAY.16.1899. We note five #40e (pale milky rose lilac, perf 11½ x 12), other shades of the 11½ x 12 perf, several magenta shades, at least one "pitted 0" variety, and so on. The collector has carefully identified each stamp with date, postmark, perforation measurement, paper thickness, etc. A very difficult collection to assemble, especially in this nice quality and with all stamps fully dated. All are scanned online. (Image)
