1859 1c rose Queen Victoria on Very Thick Paper, a mint strip of three, with full original gum, right stamp is never hinged, fine. Accompanied by a 2015 Greene Foundation certificate. A scarce mint paper variety, even more so in a multiple and catalogue value does not count a premium for the rare never hinged stamp. Ex. Dale-Lichtenstein. Rsv. (Image)
1859 1c Queen Victoria Plate Proof in Deep Rose, in a full sheet of 100, on card-mounted India paper, with full sheet margins all around showing 8 printer's inscriptions. The sheet also shows major re-entries in positions 28 and 58. There is a small stain on the card at top (away from the sheet) which in no way detracts from this stunningly beautiful sheet. A must have for the serious collector. Rsv. (Image)

Group of Interesting 5c Beaver Stamps, first is unused (with faults), an imprint copy with a clogged-up 4-ring #4, a nice strike of Québec #37 in grid (closed tear), a single which appears to have an extra vertical row of perforations (probably post-contemporary), a very thick paper, five attractive stamps having red, green or blue cancels, a #16 on grid cancel from Hamilton, a used pale vermilion shade caused by under-inking (heavily inked at right), a very fine bright vermilion shade with a re-entry in right frameline (on medium wove paper) plus one other. Overall fine, with 14 stamps in all. (Image)
Group of 5c red Beaver Constant Plate Varieties, with 7 used stamps, all described as per its variety name and plate position, as well as with a blow-up of the variety. "Sun Flaw" (pos. 6 with 4-ring #27 cancel), "Low Moon" (pos. 34), "guide dot in left frame" (pos. 92), "Sunbeam" (ex. Lindemann), "Bubble Flaw" (Calder's PF 124), "Railway Track" (with partial 4-ring #49 in blue, ex. Lindemann) and "Low Moon" (ex. Lindemann). A useful group. (Image)
1859 5c red Beaver with Major Re-Entry, from plate position 28, used with blurry target cancel, still clearly showing most of the re-entry. Some perforation holes were "cleaned" in the top left corner area, else fine. (Image)
1859 5c orange red Beaver with Major Re-Entry, from plate position 28, used with light grid cancel, leaving the re-entry quite clearly visible. Tiny surface scuff at top right, still an attractive example of this scarce stamp, very good. (Image)
1859 10c black brown Consort, Perforated 11¾, used with crisp and well centered strike of the 4-ring #27 (Ottawa). A very well centered stamp, with three large margins and only a few perf holes touching the outer frameline at right (scarce thus). Minor thin to left of Consort's head, else a very fine appearing stamp. (Image)
1859 10c red lilac Consort, unused (no gum), fresh and very well centered for issue, extremely fine. Accompanied by a 2018 Greene Foundation certificate. A lovely stamp in all respects. Rsv. (Image)
1859 10c brown Consort, unused (traces of gum, with hinge remnant which could easily be removed) and very well centered among four even margins. Described by owner as printing order 15A, very fine. Accompanied by a photocopy of a 1953 B.P.A. certificate. (Image)
1859 10c brown Consort on Very Thick Paper, mint with full original gum and hinge remnants. A very fine centered stamp with clipped perfs at right, still a very rare paper variety in mint condition. Accompanied by a 2000 David Brandon certificate. Catalogued in Unitrade as fine only. Rsv. (Image)
1859 12½c yellow green Queen Victoria, a lovely used block of eight, tied to piece by several strikes of the Brantford CW duplex dated AUG.21.1867. The stamps are clearly from positions 1-4, 11-14 as evidenced by the printer's imprint in top margin and unique centering. Because of its large size, this block was instrumental in helping determine the single-plate theory for this value. Once belonging to Brig. Studd, it was studied by himself as well as Jarrett, Senator Calder, Lee-Jones and others, as evidenced by the accompanying article by Peter J. Hurst published in the October 4, 1952 Weekly Philatelic Gossip magazine. We know only of one or more blocks of four and a strip of four, leaving this as likely the largest known multiple. A few insignificant faults, still a must have for the Cents or classics collector. Rsv. (Image)
1859 12½c blue green Queen Victoria, mint with full original gum, lightly hinged. A fresh stamp, with perforations clear of outer framelines on three sides, fine. (Image)
1859 12½c dark blue green Queen Victoria, Perforated 11¾, Unused (no gum), fresh and very fine. Accompanied by a 2018 Greene Foundation certificate. Rsv. (Image)
1859 12½c yellow green Queen Victoria with Major Re-Entry, mint with large part original gum. This major re-entry, most notable in the E of PENCE is from plate position 94 and the stamp has a sheet selvedge at bottom (scarce thus for this issue, but even more so with small part printer's imprint at left) corroborating this. Very nice centering, with a shorter perf at right, with fresh colour and a scarce stamp in this very fine condition. Accompanied by a 2014 Greene Foundation certificate stating "gum somewhat disturbed". This stamp is widely recognized as being the finest mint example of the major re-entry. Rsv. (Image)
