Chile, "Pais de Poetas" Exquisite Mint/Used Classic Collection, 1867-1948, Beautifully presented homemade collection in one binder; already from page one, we realize that this is no ordinary collection. Beginning with a page of British stamps cancelled in South America with examples from Caldera and Valparaiso, we are then presented with an entire page of Spiro forgeries, after which we're treated to genuine stamps of the 19th century, including a couple on cover, such as one sent inland with #15 & 18 making up the overweight rate. There are examples of postage stamps used as revenues on documents, and conversely, revenues on cover used as postage, such as AR11 (pair). Many unusual items too, like additional pages of revenues and telegraph stamps, postal seals, some postal stationery, inverted surcharges and unlisted overprint varieties. As far as those listed in Scott, many better including mint 20-24, 39-49, 68-78, 186-97, C89, O9-13, O15 and used 15-19, 25-36, 124-26, C6-8, C9-14, C124, O14, O16. As a bonus, 100's of more modern used issues on stocksheets. Condition varies a bit, but generally Fine to Very Fine, collection viewable in full.

image Czechoslovakia, Doubly Collected in 5 Albums, 1918-86, In a 5-volume Lindner set of hingeless albums, a specialized collection with most mounts housing both mint & used and very often with duplicates. From 1927 on, looks complete and then some! Not only were additional pages added by the collector, but opposite pages were used for varieties and multiples, such as tĂȘte-bĂȘche and gutter pairs, the occasional cover, and blocks & sheetlets, some of which are listed or footnoted in Scott, but some not even mentioned. It is obvious the collector used POFIS as their guide, as there are also many type variations included, even into the modern era. An incredible collection by any standard, and you can view two volumes online to give you a perspective on its scope and extensiveness, Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 31 lbs. The highlight though, without a doubt, is the over 700 souvenir sheets & sheetlets (1937-2003). Many of these are only footnoted in Scott, but there are also many type variations which will only be found in the Pofis catalogue, and they can often be 2 to 3 times the regular catalogue value. image Czechoslovakia, Large Mint/Used Collection, 1918-2000, A very clean and well-filled collection into the 1970's hinged on album pages with mint stamps generally in mounts and never-hinged. An accompanying stockbook with 100's of stamps at first seemed to be merely duplicates until I noticed a number of items which were not in the album, such as used 429a, 719 perf & imperf, 556, 1134a, 1554 and an unused card of 288-92 as footnoted in Scott. A second stockbook did not have 100's, but many 1000's of duplicates, mostly used including Bohemia & Moravia and for the most part designated and sorted by Scott number from #1 well into the late 1970's. A quality inventory of thousands of mint never hinged singles, sets and souvenir sheets all housed in glassines in a medium size box. All purchased at the time of issue and put away decades ago. We catalogued the Switzerland section alone at $8714, and only 3 glassines of D.D.R. totaled $4723 and included 43 sets of 54-57 at $69 each, less 57A. The balance of this well packed box includes a substantial section of Sweden including a plethora of booklets mainly full, another substantial section of Surinam followed by a huge number of souvenir sheets of Israel. A few other countries are present including France all in similar numbers. Overall the quantities average around 40-60 sets per glassine. Sets and singles average in the $2 to $10 range with some higher such as the D.D.R. at $69 a unit. Well worth a careful look as this is a great inventory to maximize profits with online sales. Scott value is huge as just the Swiss and DDR amounted to $13,437. And there is much, much more in value! Condition is uniformly nice, o.g., never hinged, Fine to Very Fine. (Image)
