image Extensive Mostly Mint Collection, 1913 to 1996, the main collection is displayed in two stockbooks, and includes most complete sets in mint, sometimes mint and used and sometimes mixed, with some sets being duplicated, sometimes up to three. From 1950 and on, there is usually a mint and a CTO of each issue. The collection holds a great many $50 to $100 or more sets, too many to list, but our online photos will give a good idea. We lotted the first issues in the singles and sets part of this catalogue, and the rest of the collection is intact, as received. We catalogued all issues, including the back of the book only up to 1960 and it comes to $7,445 ($2,247 is back of the book). After 1960, we assume the collection is complete, including souvenir sheets and many imperforates, up to 1996 (and should add a few thousand dollars more to the c.v.). Also not counted in the catalogue value is a stockbook filled with another collection, as well as a collection in a Minkus album (1920s to 1967) and Scott Specialty (1960-65). Also includes 10 covers from 1932 to 1938 mailed to various countries, incl. diplomatic mail, all sold to the owner by George Wegg in 1993 for $150 (some of the covers are ex. Allan Steinhart). A very nice quality collection, (Image)

image Collection of Mint and Used Austria, 1945-1982, consisting of many hundreds of stamps in hingeless album pages. We note many mint sets, and includes primarily used semi-postals, along with a small selection of mint and used airmails and postage dues. Better items include Scott #s: 538 (n.h. c.v. $100); B260-263 (used, c.v. $60 total); B269-271 (used, c.v. $85 total). Owner's catalogue value totaled $1,206. The lot also includes a binder of mint and used Spain, containing many hundreds of stamps (with some duplication up to 10 in some cases), primarily ranging from the 1930s to 1970s (with a few stamps pre-1930). A spot check of mint stamps in both collections showed mostly mint never hinged material. Online photos show a representation of this useful lot for the diligent collector. image Large Lot of Mint Never Hinged Miniature Panes and Souvenir Sheets, in envelopes with glassine interleaving or in glassines. Scott #s 678/3078, duplicated with upwards of 10 or more of some items. This group must have high total catalogue value: we checked the first 20 envelopes out of over 60 and found the catalogue value to be $1,963; this just counting items over $10. The miniature panes of Czechoslovakia have, for the most part been separated into their component stamps over the years and have only relatively recently been listed as footnotes in Scott, which is why we noted these surprisingly high catalogue values for this country. The stamps are generally well-preserved, despite their humble presentation, with only the odd folded corner here or there as a result of careless handling. Excellent material for the re-seller. image Group of Mint and Used Old Auction Lots, in a small binder, includes a selection of Danish West Indies. These auction lots tend to start in the $20 range of old catalogue value and are often comprised of sets, singles, part sets or small groupings of stamps from the same period. There are 38 lots in all with an owner's old total catalogue value of $2,807. Great material for the re-seller or to add a significant quantity of better material to a collection, as there is little in the way of duplication. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)

image Mint and Used Collection in Stock Pages, 1851-1978, all neatly displayed with used in one column and mint in a second column, mostly used at the beginning, turning to both in the middle period, then to mint only near the end. The used have many nice town cancels, especially in the early definitives plus a nice assortment of 3-ring numerals on the first page. Some of the better used items we saw include #s 2a (x3), 2b (x3), 3, 4 (x3), 5, 6, 7 (x4), 8, 9 (x7), 11 (x2), 12, 13 (x2), 16 (x2), 17, 18 (x3), 19, 27, 31 (x3), 32 (x3), 33, 34 (x3), 35 (x3), 37, 82 (x2), 135 (x2) and so on. Catalogue value given is the owner's from a while back, but as we checked these listed items, we noted that some prices had gone up and some down. Owner's value includes $5,956 in value for items more than $1 and $399 for items under $1. Overall fine or better. (Image)

image Collection / Accumulation of Mint and Used Egypt, 1867-1968, consisting of many hundreds of stamps, in a binder, with many Vario-style and owner created pages. The lot begins with a selection of used material up to the mid 1920s (including a few pages of pyramid stamps), with a gradual mix of mint and used material up to the 1950s, and primarily mint United Arab Republic material up to the late 1960s. The collection includes a representation of Airmails, Officials, Postage Dues, and Occupation of Palestine. A cursory look of material showed a mix of lower value stamps with items cataloguing $10 and up, leaving potential finds for the diligent collector. We note a few small faults with the early material, with the vast majority of the lot being fine to very fine. (Image)
