1991 Mushrooms, Pre-approval essays (Scott 565/573 var.), each of the seven values plus the souvenir sheet is mounted on a small card for approval, five of the seven stamps with different denominations than those issued: the issued 80f design with a 5f denomination, the 100f with 15f, the 130f with 40f, the 200f with 150f, and the 300f with 600f; the changes in the denominations are marked in red pen on the five cards, and all eight cards - the seven stamps with tissue paper overlays - are marked with quantities to be printed (the 300f only 5,000) and signed and sealed on the reverse by Sadeq Hamood Obad of the Yemeni Posts & Postal Savings Corp., Jan 27, 1991., Very Fine. A unique set.
It will be noted that the issued stamps all bear a 1990 date; apparently the original date of issue was delayed by an imminent increase in postal rates. (Image)
