image Three Special 1961 Air Mail Covers to South America, each franked with a different commemorative stamp (full set of three) depicting flights to three different South American countries. The cover franked with the Argentina issue was mailed to Argentina, same for Uruguay and same for Peru. All were mailed from Rome in 1961 and all have receiving postmarks as well as commemorative cachets. We note that these stamps were issued on April 4 in anticipation for the April 6 new rate, and these covers are dated on the first day of this new rate (APR.6.1961). Interesting and very fine. image Collection of 85 Back of the Book Covers and Cards, 1917 to 1980s, mostly air mail covers or cards, including first flights, experimental flights and commercial air mail covers, plus some special delivery and event covers, etc. Noted a lovely 1917 #C1 on cover, 1929 cover to Tunisia with two #C3, two to same destination with each a #C6, a WWI censored cover with parcel post stamps used as franking, Italian Socialist Republic covers, including one with E1 and E2, some anniversary cards, including some depicting the Newfoundland Balbo flight stamp and more. image Interesting Group of Fiscal Stamps and Folded Letters, 1854-1856, with a small group of fiscal stamps (2x 15c and 2x 30c) plus five folded letters mailed between 1854 and 1856 using fiscal stamps, which was permitted after 1850, four franked with a single 15c, and one with a single 30c. One cover was mailed from Sermide (Lombardy), three others from Salo (Lombardy), all to various places nearby. Four of the covers are signed by Alberto Diena and the four stamps also have an expert signature. A rare group of fiscal stamps used as postage stamps. (Image)
