Stephens, a 1967-2003 Space Disaster cover, postmarked at Cocoa, Cape Canaveral, and the Kennedy Space Centre on the dates of the Apollo 1 fire, Challenger Tragedy, and shuttle Columbia tragedy, two items signed by astronomer Clyde Tombaugh, a 1927 block of four 2c ICAO commemoratives, each signed by Graf Zeppelin Commander Dr. Eckener, an unused 5c 1847 Franklin with PSE certificate, a 1924 Trans-Polar Flight Expedition postcard to Norway, a selection of plate number singles, etc; worldwide highlights include better Newfoundland, with an unused 8d Scarlet vermilion Heraldic (SG #8) with Brandon certificate, and a 1932 “Wayzata” cancelled flight label block of four, inverted centers from the French Somali Coast, Peru, and Cuba, specimen overprints of Haiti, Tasmania and Liechtenstein on the 1931 Zeppelin issues, a selection of first flight covers, including Lindbergh, a group of stampless transatlantic and free frank letters of Great Britain, interesting British Commonwealth including a New Zealand Trans-Tasman Air Mail “Faith in Australia” (#C5), and British Forces in Egypt imperforate proof (#M1) blocks of four; as well as sets and singles from Sarawak, Mauritius, Zululand, Malaya, Rhodesia, and more; an eclectic group replete with fascinating items, ideal for a collector with an eye for the unusual.
