#120a, 1895 25c Liberty, Center Inverted, used with appropriate contemporary Montevideo datestamp, beautifully centered, deep rich colors, very fine; it is believed that only 40 examples were sold at a post office counter in Montevideo before the error was discovered, and the remaining mint copies were destroyed, of the 40 copies that were sold, only a small percentage were recovered and saved, making this an exceptionally rare error; signed Diaz and another and accompanied by 1981 Fausto Diaz Paulos certificate (Scott $2,000.00).
