Manuscript postmark on envelope to Hanover N.H. franked with manuscript cancelled 1861 3¢ rose, Very Fine, the office had opened in Island County in 1865 and closed in 1910, probably sent by steamship to San Francisco, then on the recently completed transcontinental railroad.
