The East Tennessee, Virginia & Georgia was a consolidation in 1869 of the East Tennessee & Virginia and the East Tennessee & Georgia Rail Roads. The 243 mile route between Bristol and Chattanooga via Knoxville was run under two contracts using a Railway Post Office car at $39,255 a year for a daily service.

Sent on R.P.O. car from Bristol 10 miles west to Blountville.
