Worldwide Stamps and Covers
Sarawak

Sale No: 46
Lot No: 1956
Symbol: O/*
Cat No: Collections

image Collection / Accumulation of Mint and Used Sarawak, 1869-1979, containing many hundreds of primarily used stamps, in various Vario-style stock page configurations and a few quadrille pages, housed in a binder. We note selected sets and partial sets in 4 and 5 row Vario-style pages and stock cards, including Scott #s (includes owner's catalogue values and identification notations): 1/35 (mint and used, c.v. $330), 8-20 ( mint and used, c.v. $500), 22-24 (used, c.v. $515), 36/48 (mint and used, c.v. $211), 50/93 (mint and used, c.v. $265). The lot continues with 4 pages of primarily used owner's accumulated duplicates, ranging from Scott #2/211 with a catalogue value of $800. A spot check revealed a few small faults, along with mostly mint hinged stamps, some no gum and a few never hinged. A very interesting collecting area that demands further study from the Commonwealth specialist, and an opportunity for dealers to add to stock. All pages scanned online. Overall, fine to very fine. image Group of Mint Sarawak, 1871-1979, consisting of roughly 350 stamps in four Vario-style stock pages. The stamps range from Scott #2/208, including a few Malaysia / Sarawak issues, with duplication up to 8 in some cases. A spot check indicates mint no gum on the 1871-1875 issues (including surcharges), with primarily mint hinged thereafter. Catalogue value, along with identification notations, is by owner and seems reasonably current. All pages scanned online. An exotic group, overall fine to very fine. (Image)
