1918 picture post card addressed to Maria Feodorovna (1847-1928), Empress consort of Russia as spouse of Emperor Alexander III. She was the second daughter of King Christian IX of Denmark and Louise of Hesse-Cassel. Among her children was Tsar Nicholas II, whom she outlived by ten years. The card was sent by Prince Valdemar of Denmark (the youngest son of Christian IX of Denmark and brother of Empress Maria Feodorovna), with notation in Danish "souvenir from the Hvidore, via Fram" and sent to the Empress in St. Petersburg, franked with Norwegian 5o green, tied by Polhavet pmk, arriving in 1926 (!) in Leningrad, returned, with markings in red crayon "Inconnu" (unknown).
