image Mint and Used Collections of Stamps and Cinderellas, a very diverse collection in 5 binders and one stockbook. The various Yemen entities are well represented. Among others, we noted a large set of tridimensional stamps and gold stamps for the Grenoble Olympic Games. The states of South Arabia are represented by many colourful sets and souvenir sheets, so are Dubai, Manama, Ras l Khaima, Umm al Qiwain, Fujeira and Sharjah. A thick stockbook holds numerous souvenir sheets, se-tenant blocks and strips from all these areas. Another binder holds cinderellas from Lundy, Malaku Selatan, Dhufar, Staffa and other similar. Finally, a stockbook is replete with all kinds of labels and reprints. We noted Mexican TB labels, labels for the 1897 Brussels Exhibition, St-Jean-Baptiste Society labels, Canadian and US Easter Seals, Boy's Town labels, fiscal stamps and many others. (Image)

Owner writes that there are 2,260 items present. image Mostly Used Collection, 1913 to 2014, in 5 Stanley Gibbons padded albums with matching slipcases. Very strong from the beginning, with used only up to 1946. Many high values are included, missing only 12 regular issues in this period. Catalogue value for the period of 1913 to 1943 is £4,486 in Stanley Gibbons. From 1946 on there are a few mint stamps here and there (but still mostly used), and up to 1990 the collection is about 90% complete. From 1990 to the end it gets less and less populated, becoming 5% complete in the later years. A very nice collection, with good quality stamps, mostly all with clean c.d.s. cancels and fine to very fine. We have scanned the first eleven pages online. (Image)

A lovely and very valuable collection left intact, and loaded with better singles and sets, way too many to list here. We estimate 90-95% of the collection to be used, rest is mostly mint hinged but we noted some never hinged in black mounts. Starts with Great Britain, with Penny Blacks (x4) and a Penny Blue, a mint #4 with original gum, four embossed QVs (3 are cut to shape), perforated Penny Red plated up to #224 (223 is mint), plus a number of other plated issues such as the ½d rose (all plates but #14), and much more (owner catalogued the GB long ago at $36,900). The owner catalogued many of the pages or countries long ago, many pages having a high catalogue value, several in the $500 to $1,000 range and more. For example we catalogued Malta alone at $3,775 (owner had $3,067). There are also a large quantity of expensive single stamps and sets in this collection, many cataloguing in the $50 to $200 range (and often much more), with many Shilling and Pound values throughout. The postmarks are for the most part clean, with most of the high values being postally used (a few are not). A much better collection than is normally seen. We have scanned over 150 pages online, just as a small sample. We highly recommend viewing this one in person to further appreciate the better than average quality, variety and very high catalogue value of this lovely collection. Overall fine to very fine. image Lot of Retired Dealer Stock, with hundreds of mint and used singles and sets from all eras, mostly in priced and identified 102 cards or in stock sheets. Many cards are priced in the $20 to $100s or more range, so high total catalogue value, unchecked by us for accuracy of the identification or prices, so inspection is recommended. Quality is overall good, with some faults in the earlier material, online scans only show a portion of the lot. This lot includes Great Britain (including six 0-3 margin Penny Blacks, lots of Penny Reds, lots of Seahorses, etc), New Zealand, Ceylon, Fiji, India and States, Lundy, British Antarctic Territory, Virgin Islands, Falkland Islands, and some others. image Mint and Used Collection in 7 Albums to 1953, an old time collection on quadrille pages with strength in the George VI reign. The collection is often parallel with mint and used copies present. For some stamps, blocks or additional mint or used copies are also present. A major feature of this collection is attention to printing varieties, watermarks and watermark positions; these have been carefully annotated by the collector. We noted the exceptional fresh colours of the mint stamps all through the collection. Coverage varies from one colony to the other. We noted better coverage of British Honduras, Gibraltar, Hong Kong and South-West Africa among others. New Zealand is well represented with mostly used stamps. No Canada, Australia (the former Australian states are represented) or India. An exceptional collection that merits close inspection. (Image)
