September 1939 Provisional Irish oval censor handstamp; Aug. 18, 1939 envelope from St. Vincent to Dublin, bearing 1½d tied by Colonarie village c.d.s., showing stupendous strike of the "Passed By/Censor" oval handstamp, applied provisionally in September 1939 after the outbreak of the WWII; during the journey of this cover, the War outbreak occured, making this a fascinating usage, the most significant of only three covers recorded bearing this handstamp.
