Iceland

Sale No: 46
Lot No: 1865

image Group of Mint and Used Old Auction Lots, in a small binder, consisting mostly of classics and semi-classics. These auction lots tend to start in the $20 range of old catalogue value and are often comprised of sets, singles, part sets or small groupings of stamps from the same period. There are 35 lots in all with an owner's old total catalogue value of $1,882. Great material for the re-seller or to add better material to a collection, as there is only light duplication. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)

image Collection of Mint and Used Iceland in Three Davo Albums, 1873-2016, all with slipcases, containing many hundreds of stamps, in hingeless mounts, on album pages. The first album contains years 1873 up to 1989 (roughly 90% complete). We note a small selection of mint and used pre-1900 stamps including Scott #s: 1 (used, likely a forgery), 2 (used, C.T.O. postmark), 9/20 (mint and used, missing #19, c.v. $1,104 total), along with post-1900 better singles and sets including Scott #s: 85 (used, c.v. $350), 99-128 (mint and used, c.v. $219 total). The collection also includes a good run of back of the book material with Airmails C1-C8, C10, C15-C26 (mint and used, c.v. $452 total), and Officials O4-O9, O11, O25-30 (mint and used, c.v. $457 total). The remaining albums contain primarily mint stamps from 1990 onward (roughly 50% complete). We note small perforation faults with the early stamps, along with a few mint having gum issues. Catalogue value is up to 2009 only (with album pages including owner's notations and catalogue values). Online photos show some of the better pages of this very popular collection area. Overall, fine to very fine. (Image)

image Mint and Used Collection in an Older Lindner Album, 1882 to 2003, with additional album pages / stock pages tucked in the back and is fairly complete in the period 1944 to 1988. This collection will often have a used example of a given issue hinged to the page and a mint version in the pocket in front of it. We estimate the collection to be 80% complete in period and it includes #s 44B (used c.v. $240), 125 (mint c.v. $190), 141 (mint c.v. $400), 181 (mint c.v. $140). Very much a collection in progress with loose stamps, stamps in glassines as well as old auction lots (these owner's older c.v. $163) between the pages or at the end of the album. We noted a few stamps placed in the wrong spaces. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)
