H&G E1, 1875 -+r Black on manila wrapper, addressed to Quezaltenango with partial strike of blue single ring duplex "CORREO..." plus an oval "ADMINISTRACION/ DE CORREOS/ -7-ENE/ QUEZALTENANGO" violet date stamp without year, light central bends and bit of toning along right edge and bottom right corner, Fine and rare; 2014 Moorhouse certificate stating "...it is a genuine usage but I am unable to confirm that it was used in the correct time period. I am unable to decipher the despatch duplex cds but the oval date stamp from Quezaltenango is recorded as being known used in the 1891-92 period though an earlier use is, of course, possible. (Image)
