1902 Postal Cards to England Collection, 1896 3c Blue (3, H&G 1), 3c Red (17, H&G 2 or 5a) all sent by an Englishman working at the Mexican Legation in Guatemala City to the same woman in London in July and August of 1902, each card with an oval "OFICINA DE CERTIFICADOS/ GUATEMALA" oval date stamp and the handstamp of the seal of the Legation, some of the 3c Red cards with an additional circular "GUATEMALA O.A. 1" handstamp, an added feature is that each of the cards has had a photo printed onto the back side depicting parts of the journey the sender undertook from San Francisco to San Jose de Guatemala which included stops at three Mexican ports, usual mixed condition but a Fine and unusual collection (Image)

H&G E1, 1875 ¼r Black on manila wrapper, addressed to Quezaltenango with partial strike of blue single ring duplex "CORREO..." plus an oval "ADMINISTRACION/ DE CORREOS/ -7-ENE/ QUEZALTENANGO" violet date stamp without year, light central bends and bit of toning along right edge and bottom right corner, Fine and rare; 2014 Moorhouse certificate stating "...it is a genuine usage but I am unable to confirm that it was used in the correct time period. I am unable to decipher the despatch duplex cds but the oval date stamp from Quezaltenango is recorded as being known used in the 1891-92 period though an earlier use is, of course, possible. (Image)
