image Extensive Collection of Mint and Used Gibraltar, 1886-1999, housed in a Lighthouse hingeless album (from 1886 to 1999), with slipcase, and a second hingeless album with slipcase. The Lighthouse album consists of a comprehensive collection (includes shades and perforations varieties) of primarily mint stamps beginning with a near complete run of Victorian stamps (identified by owner) with Scott #1-38 (missing 18, 20, c.v. $2,441 total), along with mint and used #39-44 (c.v. $119 total), 49a/60 (c.v. $457 total), 66-75 (includes mint 66a, 67a, 69a, 71a-c, c.v. $542 total), and a complete mint set 76-94 (c.v. $2,560 total). The collection continues with King George V and VI mint issues (including shade and perforation varieties), and what appears to be a complete run of mint stamps from 1953 up to 1999. The second album consists of a few early examples of "A26" obliterators including on Scott #A39, A41, A45 (c.v. $200 total), along with souvenir sheets, booklets, singles and gutter pairs ranging from 1977 to 1998. Online scans show pages up to 1954. Catalogue value counted up to 1954 only. We note some faults with the early material including mint no gum, heavy hinging with hinge remnants. A fairly comprehensive collection, with only a few gaps to fill, overall fine to very fine. (Image)
