image Large Mostly Used Southern Europe Collection, from the Classics to the 1990s. Included are; Greece, Italy, Vatican City, Spain and Portugal, each in their own large album. We estimate the Greece collection to be about 60% complete in period. This collection also includes a few of the occupation issues, Crete, Epirus and Thrace. We estimate the Italy collection to be about 70%-80% complete in period. It is fairly strong in the early period and includes Scott #s 58-63 (c.v. mint $163), J21 (used $95) among others. The Italy collection also includes occupations, issues for the Greek Islands, Colonies and other Italian areas. The Vatican City collection is housed on hingeless pages in an older Lighthouse springback album. It runs from 1929 to 1985 and we estimate it to be about 70% to 80% complete in period. Unlike the other countries in this group, this collection is a fairly even split between mint and used. We estimate the Spain collection to be about 60% complete in period. It also includes numerous issues of the Spanish Colonies, with these more often mint than used. We estimate the Portugal collection to be about half complete in period. Also included are many of the issues of the Portuguese Colonies. Overall fine or better. (Image)

image Valuable Mint and Used Collection of Western Europe, from Classics to the 1980s, hinged into a very thick and well filled Minkus Supreme Global Album with an owner's count of over 5,200 stamps. This collection is comprised of more used than mint stamps and for a regional collection, this one is unusually catalogue-value packed. Other countries included are Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Sweden, with these countries having stamps from Classics to the early 1960s. The Belgium collection starts at Scott #1 and we estimate it to be 60% complete in period with several of the souvenir sheets included. There is also a smattering of Greenland running from 1938 to 1963. Better Scott #s include Belgium 1-4 (c.v. used $320), 8 (used $110), 9 (mint $225), 12 (x2 used $150 each), 25 (used $90), 26 (used $90), 74 (used $70), 92-102 (used $66), 121 (used $125), 172-84 (mint $59), B28-B30 (mint $56), B31-B33 (mint $89), Denmark 3 (used $60), 34 (used $60), 35 (used $100), 65-69 (used $191), 135 (used $175), Finland 6 (used $150), 7 (used $160), 10 (used $60), 12a (used $275), 19 (used $65), Greenland 1-8 (mint $90), Iceland 12 (used $75), 17 (used $50), 86-91 (used $96), 186 (used $82), O4 (used $60), Norway 3 (used $50), 11 (used $55), 17b (used $75), 19 (used $72), 20 (used $72), 28 (used $150), Portugal 9 (used $70), 10a (used $55), 15a (used $100), 18 (used $140), 24 (used $70), 43a (used $52), and 51a (used $77) with many singles and sets at between $10 and $40 in the catalogue. image Mint and Used Western Europe Stock, from Classics to the 1990s, in stockbooks and on manilla stock pages in a binder. The countries included in this group are Belgium, France, Netherlands, San Marino and Vatican City. We start with a very large, fairly well-balanced stock of mixed used and mint Belgium, comprising over 3,000 stamps. The France is on Manilla stock sheets with a slight emphasis on mint stamps. Both San Marino and Vatican City are mostly mint with over 1,000 stamps for San Marino and more than 1,500 for Vatican City. The Vatican City portion includes many complete sets. image Very Large Mint and Used Western Europe Stock, from Classics to the 2000s, in five medium to large stockbooks, plus on more than 40 manilla stock pages. Much of the material was painstakingly catalogued on chits by the owner. The countries included are; France with some Colonies, Monaco, Austria, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland plus a smattering of others. We noted the following better issues: France 12 (c.v. x4 used $70 each) and French Morocco B13-B20 (mint $64). Also included are many, many sets and singles cataloguing at $5 to $20, as well as souvenir sheets and blocks-of-four. We estimate there to be well over 15,000 stamps in total, with the following countries standing out; Switzerland with 4,500 stamps, Austria with 4,000, Monaco with 2,000 and France with 1,500. A very useful group to build a collection with or to sell out of. Overall fine or better. (Image)

image Mint and Used Western Europe Remainder Collections, from Classics to the 1970s, in nine older albums. The countries included are Austria, Belgium, France, Hungary, Netherlands and Switzerland. The Belgium collection is housed in an older Minkus album with stamps to the mid-1960s. It starts with a fairly impressive page one. There are two collections of France; the first is in a Scott Specialty album and has a good representation of classics plus much mint from the 1920s to the 1970s. The second France collection is in an older Minkus album with stamps to about the 1960s. There is a Scott Specialty album for Central Europe with stamps from Hungary and Switzerland, Hungary especially has a strong classics offering. We saved The Netherlands for last, as it comprises five albums. These are mostly Minkus albums with stamps from classics to the late 1960s, with a degree of overlap in the material. Included is a Scott # 99 (c.v. used $50). Included also are some Dutch Colonies issues. The classics tend to be of mixed condition with the balance generally fine or better. (Image)
