1853 (25 May) Internal Mail, St. Georges to Hamilton, red rimless "St. Georges-Bermuda/Paid" c.d.s. on a small folded letter endorsed "with a boy", Very Fine.
Said to be one of only two recorded covers specifying such internal carriage by a postal employee. One is dated 1758 and endorsed "p. servt." This one is the only one known after the passage of the 1848 Act permitting a delivery service. (Image)
