Switzerland, Balance of the Collection, 1850-2014. An exceptional collection balance in 2 Scott Specialty albums; mostly used to to 1878, then just about all mint; the 19th century is very strong from the Strubels onward, including some nice mint Standing Helvetias, while the 20th century is virtually complete, including Semi-Postals and Airmails, the only missing major item being the NABA sheet; Officials are also 95% complete, including both War Board of Trade sets mint, plus used League of Nations complete (no grilled gum varieties) and International Labor Bureau nearly so. As for condition, the early used issues are somewhat mixed (though much better than average), but virtually everything else is clean and F-VF, NH beginning in the mid-1950s through 2014 which includes a high value at issue cost, with a good number of earlier NH surprises including the 10fr "Pax" (Scott 305), the 1940 National Fête souvenir sheet (B105), the 1945 Lifeboat souvenir sheet (B153), and the 1950 U.N. European Office overprints (7O1-20). Overall, a tremendous lot.
Estimate $4,000 - 6,000. Suggested Bid $4,000-6,000
