image France, Balance of the Collection, 1849-2015. Collection balance in 4 Scott Specialty albums; mainly used through 1875; but beginning with the 1876-19008 Sage Issue, the collection is virtually all mint (plus some used duplicates); highlights include used #9b (nice margins, faint crease) & 21 (also nice margins, tiny, inconsequential flaws, P.F. certificate) and mint o.g. 12, 22, 25 (two tiny gum thins, signed Calves), 61, 63, 75, 84, 89, 99, 101, 102, 107, 108, 109-196, 248 (NH), 251-253; the Regular Issues & Commemoratives are then essentially complete mint from #255 and mostly NH from the mid-1950s to 2015, with many earlier NH surprises; the Semi-Postals are missing only the rare B10 and are NH from about 1951 and the Airmails are missing only C3-4 & C15 and include the "E.I.P.A.30" perfin, C6b (LH), while the Postage Dues include mint J7, J26, J27, then J29-115 less J40; this is followed by a small collection of pre-cancels, then miscellaneous back-of-the-book, including the 1941 French Legion "Polar Bear" souvenir sheet (LH). condition on the earlies is just about all Fine of better with very few exceptions, some faults as one might expect with the 20th century very nice and mostly never hinged, the modern period missing from most collections, generally Fine to Very Fine or better.
