1864 Victoria, Vancouver Paid Cover, mailed from Victoria B.C. to Stamford Canada West (FEB.6.1864 receiver on back), and handstamped on departure with blue oval "POST OFFICE / VICTORIA VANCOUVER ISLAND / PAID", franked with U.S. #65 and 69. Stamps cancelled by sunburst fancy cancels at San Francisco, along with a c.d.s. dated JAN.7.1864. This cover travelled a long journey through Panama, New York, Niagara Falls and Toronto, by train and by steamer. Tiny tear at right, still very fine and rare in such nice condition.
