image Johnson's Island, O., orange cover addressed to Goshen, N.Y., franked #65 tied by target cancel with double-ring "Sandusky/NOV/30/64/O" postmark alongside, Type I oval examiner's handstamp at left with initials "GSB" (George S. Brown); the Type I handstamp allowed for replaceable initials, this a first-month use for Brown, the earliest use documented being Nov. 5, 1864 (see Harrison, Prisoners' Mail from the American Civil War, pp. 190-191); light corner bumps or wrinkles at top of cover, otherwise sound, Very Fine, an appealing item for the Civil War Postal Historian.
