image Exraordinary Western Union Telegraph Issues Collection, comprehensive and neatly mounted and annotated on 308 homemade exhibit-style specialty pages in five Scott albums and including an array of specialty items along with the issues stamps including 1872/1942 "Complimentary" booklets (some with stamps remaining), booklet covers and panes, overprinted and manuscript control number varieties, one volume with a lovely assortment of approximately 155 mostly different 1940s advertising labels, the final volume devoted to collection of 63 trial color and plate proofs, among the many premium we note 16T2 booklet with four complete panes and a partial pane of three (thought to be unique) accompanied by the original linen "Complimentary" envelope, 16T3-4 panes still in the original booklet, 16t* pane in original booklet, 16T13 pane in original booklet, 16T42 panes (8) with cancel punch in complete booklet, 1916 "Complimentary" booklet modified by manuscript for "1918" use (possibly unique), 16T44 sheet of 16 with 6 horiz pairs imperf between (16T44b), engraved portrait of Morse (very similar to design used on the 1940 issue) signed "With sincere esteem/ Yr friend & Svnt/ Saml F.B. Morse", 16T99a-103a gutter blocks of four, Proofs 26 different 16T44TC1 trial color proofs in various colors on india, card or glazed card, 16T44TC3a-c sheets of 16, 16T44TC5a-c, e, f sheets of 16, etc., far better condition than typically seen in these collections, overall fresh and F-VF, a monumental effort well worth a careful viewing; inventory available.
