image "Land of the Midnight Sun" Alaska Postal History Collection, 1901-60, 5 volume collection of Alaska prior to statehood; organized alphabetically, the pages are typed with descriptions of the town, word origins, and philatelic curiosities, with many becoming DPOs; many are emergency Airmail flights (surprisingly common), mining or fishing towns, dogsled mail, and commerical correspondence; also includes a Lighthouse stockbook brimming with early postcards (and an 1888 Fort Wrangel roughly opened postal entire, and 1909 Nome hotel cover with matching stationery written in French to Paris) including real photo postcard of Japanese sealing scooner in the Bering Sea (1¢ Parcel Post with 1914 Unga cancel), 1913 real photo postcard at Resurrection Bay, images of Inuit, totem poles, and dozens more undivided and divided back, large percentage are postally used, Fine to Very Fine.
