(State Postal History) Denver Postal History Collection, 1860-1900s. An important collection balance approximately 125 covers and cards, numerous highlights including various "Denver City" datestamps including 1860 and 1861 "tombstone" postmarks, 1861 "Denver City Kas" double-circle postmark, 1865 "Denver City, Col Advertised" datestamp, 1867 cover to Ireland with pair of 24c, several strikes of negative "M" in square (Cole Lm-63) including one to Great Britain, fancy "US" in circle on postal card (Cole US-83), 1880 registered cover to New York with 1990 Philatelic Foundation certificate, 1894 "Forw'd From" and "General Delivery" handstamps, and 1895 magenta "Registry Div." sawtooth oval, mixed condition but most strikes fine or better, a wonderful way to kickstart a Denver collection as a wide variety of different markings are represented here.

Approximately 45 covers/cards plus 8 registry return receipts, begins with legislative/departmental corner cards, followed by various advertised markings, two postage due stamped inbound foreign mail uses, forwarded mail, registered, "Unclaimed", manuscript postmarks on stampless and stamped mail including 1846 "Summit", 1838 "Libertyville - Illinois", 1877 "Urbana Ills" on postal card; 1880 "Plato Centre Ills" on postal card, etc.; mixed condition so viewing recommended but many covers of interest to be found, ideal for the Illinois state collector.

image (Valentines) 1860s-1900s Penny Dreadful Comics and Valentines. Collection of 120 with mostly being 19th century 9.5"x7" original dreadfuls, most created by American Cartoonist Charles Howard who worked for publisher John McLaughlin (a stylized "H" is visible somewhere, sometimes in the design), later copies of dreadfuls present were used as valentines and have hearts added to them, some better designs include "Brains Wanted", "Cheap, A Shopwarn Valentine", "A Boozy Valentine", etc.; good overall condition, scarce group of mostly earlier dreadful designs.
