1893, Columbian Exposition "Machinery Building" essay (Scott EX47), an intriguing item, the front showing the building embossed with surrounding sky and waterway in light blue; the reverse with printed "POSTAL CARD/This side for address only" ("Postal" with red line drawn through); no indicia as for the issued cards, but with 1¢ Columbian (#230) affixed; corners lightly bumped and a few spots of toning, but otherwise sound for its age, Fine to Very Fine, one for the specialist.
