Burleson» (Albert S. Burleson, 1863-1937, a Democrat politician), the envelope is addressed to Rear Admiral Bradley A. Fiske (1854-1942, United States Navy officer) as a member of the Board of Governors of the Aero Club of America, envelope with 16c airmail issue (Scott C2) tied by a lightly struck Aug 12 1918 air mail service cancel, envelope with some uneven aging and some small faults on back side but still an extraordinary cover signed by two US Presidents.rnRobert Peary made several expeditions to the Arctic in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is best known for claiming to have reached the geographic North Pole with his expedition on April 6, 1909.rnAlbert S Burleson, a conservative Democrat who previously served Texas in the House of Representatives, was appointed Postmaster General in 1913 by Woodrow Wilson. However, Burleson was one of the most reactionary politicians to have served as Postmaster General, which he demonstrated in ways that adversely affected national mail service and the government's civil service system, based on merit. His term is often seen as one of the worst in the history of the post. He is known for gaining cabinet support for instituting racial segregation in the US Post Office, which President Woodrow Wilson applied to other federal agenciesrnRear Admiral Bradley Allen Fiske, during his long career, invented more than a hundred and thirty electrical and mechanical devices including the rangefinder, with both naval and civilian uses, and wrote extensively on technical and professional issues; The New Yorker called him "one of the notable naval inventors of all time." One of the earliest to understand the revolutionary possibilities of naval aviation, he wrote a number of books of important effect in gaining a wider understanding of the modern Navy by the public.
