WWII, CORREGIDOR Fascinating group of over (120) cvrs to the same sailor, an ensign from the period Feb 1941 to 1945, no ordinary ensign as he became a cryptographer in the Naval Fleet Radio unit & worked with the Navy's copy of the notorious Japanese "Purple" cypher machine, he was stationed on Corregidor from abt Feb of 1941 till evacuated by submarine March 17th 1942, the covers span the entire period, many are addressed to Fort Mills Corregidor & some bear interesting high value Prexy & airmail frankings, also incl later cvrs to 1945 following his war time career, it's amazing these survived & were taken along when he was evacuated, mixed cond tears, creases, stains, roughly opened etc gen F-VF (Image)
