image 1873, 3¢ black, C.B.N.C. printing, trial color plate proof on India paper (Scott 158TC3a), a complete press sheet of 200, affixed to card; four central plate "No. 1" inscriptions (two each top and bottom); red watercolor marks (most in left selvage, a few more within the sheet), plus green crayoned instruction, "Reenter where marked X green", at bottom right, with seven positions thus marked; creases at top left corner (affecting position 1) and bottom right (across positions 180 and 200), otherwise amazingly clean and sound for its age, Very Fine, a one-of-a-kind production artifact and a must-have for the Bank Note collector or exhibitor. Shipping charges apply - weight 1 lbs.
