image 1969, 6¢ Christmas, Specialized Precancel Collection. Likely the most extensive collection of these issues and an Award Winning Two-Frame NOJEX Exhibit, in this highly publicized Postal Service Test with the names of four cities (Atlanta, Baltimore, Memphis and New Haven) were overprinted on the 1969 Christmas issue, this test proved so popular that hundreds of other cities circumvented Post Office regulations and overprinted their own Christmas stamps to expedite the holiday mails; this collection contains all the known varieties including (but not limited to) inverts, inking varieties, printing shifts, reverse printings, double overprints, etc., additional varieties include local issued perfins, blocks, strips with overprints on reverse, pre-printing paper folds and full sheets, including a rare overprinted "Baltimore, MD." test printing in full sheet format, also included are locally created precancels from all 50 states along with U.S. Possessions (Turk Islands, the USVI and American Samoa), a postal history section of this exhibit includes First and Last Day covers from all four cities along with five covers autographed by the engraver, designer, modeler and graphics engraver of the issue; with significant amount of supporting documentation as well as PSE, PF and APS certificates for all key items.
