Hahn estate, two groups, divided between private conveyance letters without postal markings (and letters only) and letters with markings which entered the mails, approximately 40 letters in the first group, we note dates as early as a 1725 letter, 1732 letter from Bristol, 1749 London to Newport "Forwarded by Your Friend Jn Gill", some interesting content abound; approximately 9 covers or letters sent through the mails in the second group, a number are ship letters including magenta ms. 1772 "Nfk Sh 4.16" faulty letter to York Town Va. plus 1765 red ms. "Phi. 7 dwt" re-rate to Newport R.I., 1772 New York to Hartford with "2 16" rating; 1773 ms. "Richmond" postmark and "6 dwts" rating to Newport R.I. (stain affects postmark); 1774 Baltimore Md. to Boston rated "4 16", 1781 London to New York with "1N" schilling packet rating; and one with black "23 SE" Franklin mark and "Sh 3.8" rating to Brunswick East New Jersey, States of America endorsed "p The New York"; etc.; mixed condition with the expected problems associated with 250+ year old covers but lots of interesting material, many with Mr. Hahn's descriptive labels, well worth careful review.
