Blue cds with 5¢ dark brown (1a), four clear to mostly large margins with intense color, on blue 1847 folded letter from Philadelphia Pa. to New York City; certificate mentions "slightly oxidized", however in our opinion it is nothing but a dark early shade with sharp, first printing impression, cover with tiny bit on staining, Very Fine, ex-Mirsky, with 2003 P.F. certificate.

Although posted onto a mail car at Baltimore the letter must have been carried on Route 1902 Baltimore to Washington. Some Route Agents operated between Philadelphia and
