image 1850-56, Group of Five Outstanding Strikes, all on trans-Atlantic covers to England (3 to London, 1 each to Liverpool and Chipping Norton); two originating in New York state, one each from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Illinois (! addressed to the American Consul, Thomas Aspinwall), and each with exceptional strikes of "PAID", "Paid 24", "19" and "5" payment and credit markings, one additionally bearing a British "2/-" due marking; light travel wear, but remarkably fresh and sound, Very Fine, a wonderful group for the exhibitor, ex Koppersmith, the Rome NY cover additionally ex Hahn.

image 1850 (Mar. 19), Rare "29" rate handstamp on cover from Trenton, NJ, to Horb, Württemberg, an incredibly bold strike of this Coles- and ASCC-unrecorded handstamp, with straightline "PAID" and Trenton postmark, plus New York "PAID PART" straightline handstamp plus red "America über Bremen" and "1 1/3." of Bremen (Vanderlinden 3038), plus multiple additional ratings in red crayon; carried on Ocean Line's steamer Washington; New York MAR 20 transit (red) and Hobb APR 1 receiver (black) on reverse; minimally reduced at left, Fine to Very Fine, a handsome item, ex Koppersmith.

image 1850 (Mar. 11), Unrecorded "34" rate handstamp on cover from Detroit to Rhineland-Palatinate, folded letter sheet addressed to Cochem near Coblenz, sent via the 34¢ Bremen packet rate with blue Detroit "34" handstamp struck over and correcting its 10 cents handstamp (matching origin postmark light at left); red New York MAR 16 transit on reverse, carried on the Ocean Line's Washington to Bremen; superb strike of "12¾ AMERICA/ÜBER BREMEN" transit on front (Vanderlinden #3306, scarcity 5) plus 10/4 double-circle receiver on reverse, Fine to Very Fine, an enticing cover for the specialist, ex Koppersmith.
