Cat No: Newfoundland
Collection of Newfoundland Related World War One Era Postcards, consisting of roughly 210 cards in a post card album. The collection is primarily a family correspondence from Jack Jolliffe, who was in the navy, sent to his sweetheart Maggie. The collection has many real photo cards depicting military views including soldiers and sailors (some were personal friends of Jack Jolliffe), along with other military scenes with ships and battle scenes. We note some Newfoundland scenes including a colour view of R.N.M. Deep Sea Fishermen Hospital, Battle Harbour, Labrador, Newfoundland, along with a few silk cards, and St.Pierre et Miquelon views. A cursory check of cards noted a mixture of unused and postally used cards and a few with light corner wear. Online photos show a representation, and should be viewed to better appreciate the contents. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)
