This lot includes a significant number of stamps from specific countries in Asia, namely: Israel, Japan, Laos, Lebanon, Philippines and Turkey. Some highlights include the Turkey Scenic Views issues of 1958 to 1960 complete, we counted out the 134 stamps and spot tested them to be never hinged. This lot is derived from a number of sources and it will be possible to assemble quite good collections of Japan, Israel and Turkey. Modest collections could be assembled for Laos, Lebanon and Philippines. We estimate the total number of stamps for each country to be as follows; Israel 1,300, Japan 2,500, Laos 300, Lebanon 400, Philippines 700 and Turkey 2,000 for a grand total of over 7,000 stamps. A spot check of the lot showed the majority of stamps are a mixture of mint and used from the 1930s up to 2016, along with some used examples pre-1930 from some countries. Better items include Scott #s: Spain 776-779 (n.h., c.v. $375 total); Greece C5-C7 (m.h., c.v. $118 total), Italy #142A (identified by owner, m.h., c.v. $425), along with material cataloguing $10 and up, with opportunities for other finds for the diligent collector. image Mint and Used Collections and Accumulations, from Classics to About the 1980s. This is a large lot comprised of two albums, three larger stockbooks as well as hundreds of album pages in binders or loose. There are a couple of hundred stamps from Estonia in a stockbook, these largely from the inter-war years. The Hungary segment of the lot consists of a collection in an older Schaubek album, stamps hinged to old album pages as well as a stockbook and includes a few classics and numerous Turul issues. The Poland portion is comprised of a mostly used collection on older album pages from 1919 to the 1980s with many loose stamps, an old Safe album with stamps from the early 1960s and a thick stockbook with a large stock of stamps in catalogue order. The Romania material is mostly hinged to album pages with many stamps in 102 cards between the pages, and includes classics. The Russia also consists of stamps hinged to pages, including classics. Overall, this lot offers plenty of stamps to work through with our estimate of more than 12,000 stamps in all. The material is derived from a number of sources and has quite good variety. For the Belgium segment of this lot, there is a collection on quadrille pages as well as a collection on older album pages. We estimate there to be more than 2,000 stamps from Belgium, Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi. Included also are some decent collections from the modern nations of Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia and Rwanda. We estimate these modern countries to comprise over 2,000 stamps. image Large Offering of Canada Post New Issue Service Material, 1983 to 2014, plus additional stamps ranging back to the 5c period. The consignor was a long-time subscriber to Canada Post's Philatelic Service and the lot consists mostly of a plate block of four and a single of every issue in the period, plus numerous additional souvenir sheets and booklets. We have opened most of the mailers the material came in for the first time, and our face value above was calculated by adding up the invoices in the mailers. The over 200 'P'-stamps in this lot were added into the total using the values they were originally purchased at; the total face value would be considerably higher if their current value was considered. The total face value that was found in Philatelic Service mailers was $3,464. For the remaining, older stamps, only the 17c and higher values were counted. Overall very fine. (Image)

image Mint Never Hinged Postage Lot, 1970s-1990, consisting of many hundreds of plate blocks (many being matched sets), singles, and souvenir sheets. The vast majority of postage is in a binder with several Vario-style stock pages, containing plate blocks, ranging from the 1970s to 1990. We note better plate blocks including Unitrade #936i matched set (c.v. $120 total), 1084 matched set (c.v. $240 total). Face value of the binder totaled $1,004 (counting 10c and up, with the vast majority in the 30c to 39c range). The remainder of the lot consists of a stockbook, binder and loose material containing singles, plate blocks (some matched sets), and a few souvenir sheets with a face value totaled at $334 (counting 10c and up). image Large Lot of Complete Sheets, 1970s to the 1990s, including a number of miniature panes and souvenir sheets from the same period. This is a well cared-for group of sheets, essentially as purchased from Canada Post through their new issue service. We noted two sheets of 926A (Unitrade mint c.v. $800 for both). The face value total for complete sheets is $6,364. Also included are a number of matched corner blocks, some booklets as well as singles, etc. The Face value just in odds and ends is $294. Not counted in the total are Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamps from 1985 to 1991 (mint c.v. total $450), a 1982 program for the Constitution Act and a couple of covers. Overall very fine. (Image)

image Large Box of Mostly Face Value Postage, 1970s to 2000s, consisting of many thousands of loose stamps, hundreds of souvenir sheets and sealed packages of matched sets plate blocks. The loose stamps have face value of $3,646 including only denominations of 17c and over (inventory sheet is included in the box). The souvenir sheets are plentiful and include over 580 of the 17c Provincial Flag sheets (more than $1,190) and over 90 of the 17c O Canada sheets (more than $250 face), among many others with much less duplication. Also includes Canada Post thematic packs, mostly unopened (more than $50 face) and several annual collections (face over $100). We also saw 12 pre-made packets of 200 x 17c stamps, with $408 face. We note strength in the 17c to 50c eras, with more than 900 stamps in denominations of 50c and over. We did not count two shoe boxes filled with stamps in denominations of under 17c, surely with face value of over $150. We also saw 12 full sheets of the 15c Canada Violet with precancel, complete with warning strips (Unitrade 787xx, c.v. $600), a part-sheet of the EXUP-overprinted 1c Bottle Gentian stamp and numerous glassines containing plate blocks of 1950s Wildlife and Wilding stamps. image Accumulation of Mint Sheets, Souvenir Sheets, Booklets, and Sealed Plate Block Packs, 1950s to 2010s, along with loose stamps, packages from annual, quarterly and semi-annual Canada Post packs. These appear to be gathered from several collections of accumulations and there is duplication throughout. The face value of all stamps was counted by the owner and totals $4,724. On quick review, we noted strength in the 30c to 47c eras along with higher denominations from $1 to $5. There has been some sorting into glassines by denomination. This very clean lot also includes a bag with several hundred off paper used Canada from the 1890s to early 2000s, these not included in the face value. We saw items such as mint Guadeloupe J8-10 with 2 copies of J10 (c.v. $507), Ivory Coast 35-6 (c.v. $152), Mauritania 17 mint and used (c.v. $290), mint Tunisia B18 (c.v. $110), multiple mint and used copies of Upper Sénégal and Niger 15-17 (c.v. $455), good showing of France Libre overprints in French India, Réunion and more, as well as a complete set of 7 mnh imperforate strips of 2 plus label of the 1965 first French satellite launching. image Collection of Mint Never Hinged Ivory Coast, 1961-1985, with roughly 300 stamps, including gutter pairs and souvenir sheets, in a stockbook. We note a few better items including Scott #s: 666B,C (c.v. $95 total), 731B, D, E, F (c.v. $290 total), 737A-C (c.v. $450 total), 739B, C (c.v. $280 total), 769A (c.v. $140), along with other sets. Scott catalogue totaled $2,210 (provided by owner). The stockbook also includes roughly 120 stamps from Burkina Faso, 65 from Togo and 35 from Mali, along with 40 souvenir sheets from these countries, 30 plate proofs as well as over 55 FDCs from the Ivory Coast. Scott catalogue for the non Ivory Coast totaled $2,590 (provided by owner), with a total catalogue value for the collection at $4,800. A clean collection with many topical and thematic possibilities. image Extensive Used Collection of About 800 Stamps from German States, on computer generated and homemade pages. This collection includes a number of fine and very fine stamps such as Baden Scott 16 (c.v. $235) and 24 (c.v. $575), Bavaria 3 (c.v. $240), Brunswick 5 (c.v. $325), 16 (c.v. $145) and 18 (c.v. $525), Hanover 26 (c.v. $275) Württemberg 23 (c.v. $275) and 39b (c.v.$190) to name a few. Many other higher priced stamps are also present but show defects. Extras such as pairs, strips and blocks, perfins, stationery cut squares, railroad stamps and local carrier stamps are also present. A few Allenstein, Schleswig and Upper Silesia stamps round up this collection. We could not verify owner’s identification of some stamps due to strong hinges.
