Lots and Collections
Scandinavia

Sale No: 46
Lot No: 1958
Symbol: O/*/*
Cat No: Collections

image Huge Nordic Countries Collections and Lots, from Classics to the 2000s, on older album pages in binders, on stock pages, in 102 cards, envelopes, etc., all filling two wine boxes. Powered by better classics and semi-classics, the total catalogue value of this lot will be quite high. There are definitely the makings of respectable single-collections for Denmark, Finland and Sweden. Although this lot is primarily used, there is a respectable value in mint never hinged modern material as well. We noted numerous well-centered postmarks, particularly among the Norway and Sweden. Included also is a representation of Karelia and Schleswig. To illustrate the size of this lot, we estimated the total number of stamps for the component countries to be; Denmark 5,000 stamps, Finland 4,000, Iceland 500, Norway 5,000 and Sweden 6,000 stamps; for a grand total of over 20,000 stamps. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)

image Nordic Countries Catalogued Lots and Collections, Classic to the 1990s, from one page to a binder in size. This lot, by owner's older catalogue values, totals as follows; Denmark $471, Finland $1,160, Greenland $81, Iceland $202, Norway $390 and Sweden $2,141, for a grand total of $4,445. This lot is comprised of over 30 individual lots with a higher proportion of mint to used stamps. With most of the heavy lifting in terms of organizing and cataloguing already done, these are great for the re-seller. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)

image Collection / Accumulation of Mint and Used Scandinavia in 6 Binders, consisting of a few thousand stamps, along with some souvenir sheets, in Vario-style and personal pages. We note representation from Finland, Denmark, Greenland, Norway, along with Aland and Faroe Islands. The lot has some pre-1930 selections of used stamps, with better representation of material with mint and used post 1930 up to the 2000s. A spot check indicated a few stamps cataloguing $10 and higher, including some early Norway, and Finland used Scott #9a (2 missing teeth, c.v. $90), along with roughly 35 Finland booklets and 35 souvenir sheets from 1990s to 2015. We note small selections of Semi-Postal, Postal Dues and Officials. Duplication of stamps is up to 5 in some cases. Overall, fine to very fine. (Image)
