Sale No: 46
Lot No: 1660

Cat No: Collections

image Mint and Used Collections, from Classics to the 1990s, on pages, in binders, in albums, 102 cards, glassines, etc, filling a wine box. This lot includes a significant number of stamps from specific countries in Asia, namely: Israel, Japan, Laos, Lebanon, Philippines and Turkey. Some highlights include the Turkey Scenic Views issues of 1958 to 1960 complete, we counted out the 134 stamps and spot tested them to be never hinged. This lot is derived from a number of sources and it will be possible to assemble quite good collections of Japan, Israel and Turkey. Modest collections could be assembled for Laos, Lebanon and Philippines. We estimate the total number of stamps for each country to be as follows; Israel 1,300, Japan 2,500, Laos 300, Lebanon 400, Philippines 700 and Turkey 2,000 for a grand total of over 7,000 stamps. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)

image Collection / Accumulation of Mint and Used Asia and Area in 7 Binders, consisting of a few thousand stamps (including a few souvenir sheets), in Vario-style black stock pages. We note better representation from China (including Chinese Imperial Post issues and a small selection of PRC), Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Laos, and Vietnam. The stamps generally range from the 1930s to the 1970s, with some issues on both sides of the given range. A spot check of stamps indicated a few issues cataloguing $10 and higher, along with selections of Airmails, Postage Dues, etc. A good opportunity for finds by the specialist. Duplication up to 5 in some cases. Overall fine to very fine. (Image)
