ONE OF FIVE KNOWN EXAMPLES OF THE 1946 KGV 1½D ON 2½D REVALUED ENTIRE - ONE OF THE MOSTLY HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER ITEMS IN AUSTRALIAN PRINTED TO PRIVATE ORDER POSTAL STATIONERY.

The 2017 Brusden-White lists only four examples of this entire, all used between November and December of 1946, with this example being a new discovery. The revalue printing was done at the Note Printing Branch in Melbourne with the 1½d die and bars printed at the same time. The revaluing of this entire was for the printed matter rate within Australia & New Zealand.

Well formed collection housed in pages in two springback albums; used section starting with 13 1840 1d blacks (most 4 margin) and a 2d blue, 1841 issues in shades, various 1854-57 issues, 1847-54 embossed issues complete with additional, plates of the 1858-64 1d & 2d, later specialized and high lights including 1867-74 5sh plates 1 & 2, 1850 ½d plate including plate 8, 1880 2sh brown (S.G. 121, cat £4,200), 1883-84 high values with 2sh6d x12, 5sh x9 & 10sh x3, 1887-92 Jubilees complete to the £1d including shades, 1902-13 KEVII issues complete to the £1 with additional shades, KGV issues with Seahorse issues appearing to be complete, etc., mint issue starting with 1880-83 QV issues complete with additional plate, 1883-84 issues including 9d, Jubilees to the 1sh, 1902-10 KEVII issues to the 5sh with additional shades, KGV issues including seahorses to the £1, £1 PUC and strong later completion; a wonderful old-time collection with many better throughout, careful inspection highly recommended.
