image 1858, 5¢ Indian red, type I. Exceptionally well centered within unusually large margins, intense vibrant color with a proof-like impression on bright paper, choice and Extremely Fine, with 2015 P.S.E. (wrongly as 28b) and 2020 P.F. certificates, both graded (XF 90, SMQ $8,000 as 28A).

A REMARKABLE 5¢ INDIAN RED TYPE I PERFORATED STAMP IN OUTSTANDING CONDITION WITH AN INCREDIBLE DEPTH OF COLOR AND IMPRESSION.

image 1858, 5¢ Indian red, type I. Intense distinctive color, well centered with full perfs all around, tied by "New Orleans, La. Oct 30, 1858" cds on blue folded cover to Barcelona, Spain, red "New-York, Br. Pkt., Jan 5" exchange cds also ties stamp, endorsed "Via England" top left, reverse with red London (1.17) transit and Barcelona (1.21) arrival cds, matching "4" and "Rs." reales handstamps for inland postage due, Very Fine, ex-Grunin, signed Ashbrook who notes "Singles of This Stamp on Cover are Very Rare", with 1988 and 2020 P.F. certificates.
