South Africa, Illustrated Postal Card Collection, 1930s-80s, a few hundred different cards from the 1930s to the 1980s to modern nicely presented and written-up on exhibit pages in three binders. Write-up traces the development and usage of the various series of these illustrated postal cards. One volume contains the early ½d Springbok, 1d Van Riebeck's Ship, 1½d Tiger, 2d Zebra and 1½c Bull issues (H&G #10 to 45) on bi-colored cards. The other two volumes include the multicolored issues of the 1½c Bull, 3c Bird, 3c Flower, Fruits, Dams, Rugby, Rhinos, Raptors and others. Sets include views of architecture, tourist sites, natural landscape, wildlife, birds, flowers etc. Wide range of issues & views with lots of Thematic interest, quite a number postally used including uprated for Airmail, with some postmark interest also, generally Fine to Very Fine.
