Unlisted in Scott and Stanley Gibbons, this is the discovery example of a major watermark variety, on the high value of this popular issue, and a key King George VI variety. Used and Mint Kenya, Uganda & Tanganyika Collection / Collector's Duplicates, from the 1900s to 1976, on Optima pages in an Optima album with slipcase. The entire collection is meticulously annotated and perforation as well as other varieties of George VI have been identified. This group starts with East Africa & Uganda Protectorate issues, including better stamps such as Scott # 52 (c.v. used $140). Following this are the issues of Kenya & Uganda, with 36 (used $77). The K.U.T. portion includes 69a (mint $95), 76 a (mint $130), 81a (mint $130) and 85a (used $170). Included also are numerous stamps in the $10 to $40 range. Overall fine or better. (Image)
