Letter is in English, by an English prisoner in a Paris jail, and notes "We have food for yet a good while. It is really enormous to think what stock Paris has. Just think of feeding two millions of souls during more than four months. It is more than I ever would have believed… As I write these lines, the cannon is groaning but Paris is immense and the shells can only reach the far quarters of the city situated near the ramparts." .
