Indian States, Postal History Accumulation, 300 covers and cards in a 3-ring album mounted on pages and on Lighthouse black cover pages. Includes a good variety of primarily of Convention States and some Feudatory States, and includes Bhopal, Chamba, Cochin, Faridkot, Gwalior, Holkar, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jhind, Kishangarh, Nabha, Patiala, Rajpipla, Saurashtra, Travancore, and possibly some others. Most are used Victorian-period postal stationery entires with some unused. Numerous interesting postal markings and several rarer uprated and registered postal cards. This group is worthy of a thorough inspection by a specialist as it appears that most of it was organized many years ago and demand for this type of material has increased. The images do not do justice to the great variety of material present in this lot. Condition as is typical for material from this part of the world, but cleaner and with postal cards more intact and without faults than we usually see. In addition, there is a box with another 60 covers from India proper running the range from the Victorian period to recent. Worth a look and a bid given the possibility of finds in this increasingly popular collecting area. Shipping charges apply - weight 6 lbs. (Image)
