Old Time Collection of Mint and Used India, 1860-1937, a lovely collection, displaying rich and vibrant colours not often seen in these issues. The collection consists of roughly 225, primarily mint after 1882, hand written on old time pages, beginning with mint and used Victorian issues including Scott #s: 19-25, 26 (m.h., c.v. $110), 26b (x4, m.h. $130 total), 28, 31-35, along with mint set 36-46 (m.h., c.v. $159 total), 50-52 (#52 used, c.v. $147 total). The collection continues with mint and used partial sets including Scott #s: 60/74 (c.v. $257), 106/123 (c.v. $225 total) and mint set 150/165 (c.v. $130 total). The collection concludes with a selection of primarily mint Officials, ranging from 1874 to 1936, and includes mint China Expeditionary Force M1-M20 (missing M11, c.v. $221 total) and M23/M33 (c.v. $334 total). Online scans show a representation of the collection. A cursory check indicated stamps are lightly hinged onto pages, leaving a few with little to no hinge traces once removed. A visually appealing collection, overall fine to very fine. From the estate of a collector who stopped collecting during World War II, and whose albums have not been opened until now. (Image)
